Masterclass Overview

 

Inspired by families and in collaboration with the UHNW Institute, the Masterclass is a closed-door, expert-led experience, tailored for a select group of advisors. Participants will benefit from a collaborative environment where they can engage deeply with experts and peers with similar circumstances, to contribute meaningfully in collaborative, multi-disciplinary environments where the generational relationships, continuity and decision-making dynamics are complex.

 

The program is limited to 24 participants, with a maximum of two per organization, to ensure diverse perspectives and strong cohort engagement. Participants are selected from the Cambridge community and approved by the Faculty Chair and Program Director.

Stefan O. Erasmus
Faculty Advisor to Families of Wealth and Independent Board Member Calgary, AB

Stefan O. Erasmus served as Chief Executive Officer of one of Canada’s largest Single Family Offices for nearly 15 years. He was responsible for all aspects of the group of companies that managed the family’s wealth and investments, including significant holdings in direct private equity and venture capital. He managed a senior professional team responsible for preserving the legacy of one UHNW family, managing all their financial, personal and philanthropic affairs.

 

Mr. Erasmus has personally led the acquisition and divestiture of numerous public and private companies, involving companies in North America, Europe and China. He has also stepped into various interim executive management positions for portfolio companies. Prior to working in the family office industry, Mr. Erasmus was Managing Director of RGP, a publicly listed global consulting firm [NASDAQ:RGP].  A former executive for an independent power producer, he has also led a national electronic integration company, among other senior leadership roles.  After starting his career in the legal profession, he then worked in Europe, North and South America providing assurance and consultative services to clients in a wide array of industries.

 

Mr. Erasmus graduated from Manchester University, England and Bourgogne University, France with a Bachelor of Laws in English and French Law and has completed executive programs at Harvard University in Negotiation and Leadership. He is also a Chartered Professional Accountant in Canada and Fellow Chartered Accountant in England and Wales. He has held the Family Enterprise Advisor (FEA) and ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors and has sat on the board of many public, private and charitable organizations. He is also an alumnus of Calgary Inc. Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 and was awarded the Alberta Family Enterprise Advisor of the Year in 2019.
