Forum Overview

The Steering Committee welcomes 48 of the most experienced M&A advisors, CFIUS and foreign direct investment counsel, national security professionals, and major global investors from key jurisdictions around the world to discuss national security-based investment reviews and their impact on cross-border investment flows and M&A.

 

Using candid, seminar-style discussion, the group identifies trends and developments in their varied practice areas and jurisdictions for meaningful dialogue on the most interesting and provocative issues of the day.

Kathy Sarpash is a Managing Director in Brookfield’s Legal & Regulatory group. In this role, she is responsible for corporate legal, governance and regulatory functions for Brookfield’s asset management activities.   Prior to joining Brookfield in 2018, she held a number of positions including General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at another asset management firm and Senior Legal Counsel in the Global Wealth and Distribution group of a Canadian Schedule I bank.   Ms. Sarpash holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Sheffield School of Law in the U.K. and Bachelor of Arts (Honors) degree from the University of Toronto. Ms. Sarpash is called to the bar of Ontario.

Prior to joining Cambridge Forums, Kristina worked for the Toronto International Film Festival where she successfully planned and hosted events for high-level donors, corporate clients and film stars. 

Outside the office, Kristina is passionate about learning new things, being outdoors, trying new cuisines and exploring the world one country at a time.

Brenna joins Cambridge Forums with 20 years of experience in events, fundraising, and development. She has spent most of her career in the music industry, working for the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, overseeing the planning of high-profile events like the JUNO awards. Most recently, she launched a successful national advocacy campaign for the live music sector resulting in significant relief funding from the federal government. 

 

Her early career involved raising funds and executing events for non-profit organizations and foundations, including the University of Toronto and the Ireland Fund of Canada. Brenna looks forward to her role as Forum Director to blend her experience and passion for bringing people together and fostering meaningful connections. 

 

She is a mother of two, a fitness enthusiast, and is best known for her sense of humour.
