The Steering Committee invites up to 44 thought leaders, including in-house and outside counsel, consultants, and finance professionals, to discuss the growing demands on corporations in the Asia Pacific region to meet ESG expectations from stakeholders, investors, and regulators.
Using candid, seminar-style discussion, the group engages in meaningful dialogue about their shared experiences, and collaboratively examine legal innovation and market developments.

Committee Co-Chairs

Paul Davies is a partner in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Environment, Land & Resources Department. Mr. Davies is Co-Chair of the firm’s ESG Taskforce and a member of Latham & Watkins’ Sustainability Committee. His practice focuses on advising on the environmental and ESG aspects of corporate transactions in the UK and overseas, in addition to a wide variety of other work, including the provision of ESG advice more generally, the management of contaminated land, the insurance of environmental risk, liaising with regulatory authorities, and climate change, health and safety, asbestos, and waste management issues. Mr. Davies is a member of the Board of Directors of Environmental Law Institute (ELI). He is “internationally regarded” for his “outstanding” work, which has “played a pivotal role in the industry” – Who’s Who Legal 2016, Environment. Further, he was named among Europe’s Top 10 Innovative Individuals for being “at the forefront for environmental law in Europe and Asia” and actively collaborating with environmental consultancies to “promote knowledge sharing” and to develop innovative products – FT Innovative Lawyers Report 2019.


Committee Members


Rosalind (Ros) Bazany is a Partner and the Head of ESG and Impact at Antler, where she leads the firm’s global sustainability strategy. Since joining in 2021, she has driven the integration of ESG and impact across Antler’s operations and investments, setting new benchmarks in early-stage venture capital.
Ros began her finance career at the hedge fund BlueCrest after earning an MSc in Chemistry. She then spent over a decade at Schroders, developing a deep understanding of sustainable investment strategies and ESG practices across asset classes, while managing a diverse portfolio of client relationships.
At Antler, Ros has launched proprietary tools and open-source platforms that help founders embed sustainability from day one. She has championed global partnerships to promote diversity and inclusion across the startup ecosystem and led the development of a sustainability monitoring framework tailored to early-stage companies.
Her work has earned industry recognition, including being named one of Venture Capital Journal’s 40 Rising Stars under 40 (2023) and one of PEI Group’s Women of Influence in Private Markets (2024). Ros serves on Novata’s Sustainability Advisory Board and the VentureESG Steering Committee, collaborating with peers to advance ESG best practices and highlight the role of venture capital in driving positive change.

Vimaljit Kaur currently serves as Senior Corporate Counsel at Amazon Web Services.
Vimaljit commenced her distinguished legal career in 2007 upon graduating with an LLB (Hons) from the National University of Singapore. She subsequently honed her expertise at the top law firms in Singapore, where she provided counsel to clients on investments and disputes throughout the Asia Pacific region.
From 2014 to 2016, Vimaljit furthered her academic pursuits by obtaining a dual master's degree in International Energy (MA) and International Law (LLM) from Sciences Po Paris and Georgetown University, respectively, as a recipient of the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship.
Upon completion of her postgraduate studies, Vimaljit returned to the professional sphere, assuming a role at a prominent energy company where she specialized in mergers and acquisitions. In 2020, she joined Amazon Web Services, where she has since been providing advice on environmental and sustainability matters across the Asia Pacific region and, on occasion, globally.
Vimaljit’s contributions to the field have been acknowledged by Legal 500, which included her in its Green GC Powerlist (2023). She also holds a position as a committee member with the Singapore Law Society's ESG Working Group, demonstrating her commitment to advancing sustainable practices and to develop ESG expertise within the legal profession in Singapore.
